Google / Purchased Digital Diary · 2016
About the research
Google’s research examined how smartphone searches connected with real-world activity. The study included 1,000 smartphone users, including 634 local searchers, and recorded 1,140 purchases.
What they found
Seventy-six percent of people searching by smartphone for something nearby visited a business within a day.
What the number means
This describes nearby-search behavior, not the conversion rate of organic website traffic. It does not establish that SEO caused those visits. The study measured business visits. It does not establish the inquiry rate or buying timeline for high-value services.

FAQS
Questions about local SEO
Our Local SEO service focuses on your website’s visibility through relevant service and location pages. Our Google Maps service focuses on your Google Business Profile. We’ll help you decide whether one or both belong in the plan.
Yes. We focus on the services you want to grow and the areas you actually serve. We review how your website presents those services and locations, then agree which pages need to be created or improved.
Timing depends on your website’s starting point, local competition and the work required. We’ll discuss expectations and how progress will be reviewed before agreeing the scope. We don’t promise a fixed ranking or number of inquiries.
We agree what to track within the scope, including calls and form inquiries where your setup supports it. Your feedback helps us understand whether those inquiries match the services you offer and the areas you serve—not just whether traffic is growing.
